Tool Smart Click
Category: Browser Automation Β· Tier: All
Click with auto-retry and self-healing selectors. v11.8.0: Added confidence gating. Only reports success if healed selector has >= 60% confidence.
When to Use
Browser automation tools map to human motor interaction research. Click accuracy, form filling speed, and scroll behavior follow established HCI models.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| selector | string | Yes | Element to click |
| maxRetries | number | No | Maximum retry attempts (default 3) |
| dismissOverlays | boolean | No | Dismiss overlays before clicking (default false) |
| retryDelay | number | No | Milliseconds between attempts (default 1000), as the CLI's --retry-delay |
| force | boolean | No | Allow clicking a red-zone element (delete account, pay, ...). Without it a red target is refused and nothing is clicked |
| _browserToken | string | No | Browser session token from a previous call |
Example
Click the main call-to-action button (whatever it says)
Red-zone refusal
A red-zone target is refused, and a refused click is never retried with a healed selector. The response is a tool error (isError: true) in the shape every red-zone refusal uses:

To click it anyway, call again with force: true. On the hosted server a refused call is refunded, because nothing was clicked.
Tips
- Pass
_browserTokenfrom a previous tool call to maintain the same browser session - The tool returns a
_browserTokenin its response β pass it to subsequent calls - Without
_browserToken, each call gets a fresh browser (blank page)
