Definition

Emotional Contagion measures how much a user's emotional state is shaped by the tone and sentiment they encounter online. High-trait users "catch" emotions from content quickly. Positive reviews spark excitement. Negative comments create anxiety. Urgent messaging causes stress.

Low-trait users stay emotionally stable regardless of content. They process information logically rather than emotionally. This leads to more objective decisions but less response to emotional appeals.
